StG’s Kids

Sundays 10.30am

Our kids' groups meet weekly during term time. The service usually starts with all ages worshipping together in the church, before children go out to their age appropriate groups. Please register your child on arrival in the foyer of church. On Sundays when we are celebrating Holy Communion, the children start in their groups and then come to join the adults for Communion.

 Wrigglers (babies)

This group focuses on babies and carers. We operate on a 'stay and play' basis, with at least 1 parent or carer staying with each baby. The group is facilitated by a member of the Kids team, and there will be toys and resources set up for play, a comfortable space to feed babies, and access to refreshments. We also play the service through the speakers. Please feel free to come and go during the service, for example taking sleeping babies into the main worship space. 

First Steps (approx 1 year -3 years old)

We recommend babies move into First Steps when they start walking. This group will involve lots of free play, and a short focused time including a Bible story, prayer and worship songs. 

Next Steps (4 year olds and Reception)

This group will include time for free play and more focused time including a Bible theme, Bible story, games, prayer, crafts and singing.

Ready Steps (school years 1&2)

This is a new group for Sept 2023, and we are really looking forward to investing in this age group. This group will have more focused opportunities to explore the Bible and Biblical themes as well as time to develop faith through prayer & opportunities to respond through creativity and sung worship.

7-11s (school years 3-6)

This group goes deeper into Biblical themes each week.  Leaders encourage the children to engage with the Bible, prayer and sung worship, creating a place for them to express their faith actively and creatively. Children in Year 6 occasionally meet separately from the rest of the group to help facilitate their transition into Youth.
