A weekend retreat to Ampleforth Abbey!
We’d love you to join us for a retreat weekend with other members of the 1830 congregation from Friday 14th to Sunday 16th March 2025. It will be a brilliant time of rest, community, worship, teaching and enjoying the countryside surrounding the Abbey.
Who is it for?
The weekend is being organised by and for anyone who regularly attends the 1830 service (excluding youth and undergraduate students who have their own weekends away). We would love to involve people of any age and include some at the 1030 service who may want to come along too. The weekend isn't suitable for children but if you have a baby and are interested in coming, please let us know via hello@stgs.org.uk.
What will we do?
During the weekend we will have a time of retreat and building community, with some guided reflections, worship, activities and space for conversation or stillness. We will reflect on and practice making space for God in our busy lives.
How much will it cost?
Tickets are £86, available as a full payment now, or in instalments of £50 and £36. This covers all of your meals, accommodation and resources for the weekend. Transport is not provided but we will arrange lifts from Leeds, or the nearest train station, which is Thirsk.
If you would like to come but cannot afford the cost, please indicate this below and we will contact you to discuss financial support.
We would be incredibly grateful if you felt happy to 'pay it forward' and contribute to someone else's ticket. Please let us know by emailing finance@stgs.org.uk for information on how to pay, and to give details of what you are offering to contribute.
What are the sleeping arrangements?
Ampleforth Abbey has space for 50 people in shared rooms of 2-8 people, which will be allocated into single sex rooms. Bedding is provided but please bring your own towel.
